Black & Decker has designed its SmartBrew "PerfectPour" carafe to be virtually drip-proof--thereby eliminating messy spills when pouring. This unit features easy-to-use touchpad controls for on/off, program, auto on, keep warm, and auto off modes. The auto off mode lets you select the amount of time before the unit turns off (1-4 hours), and a long beep sounds just before the unit shuts itself off. The adjustable keep warm feature adjusts the preferred holding temperature to suit your taste. This unit also includes a digital clock/timer, which lets you preset the unit for auto brewing, a pause-to-serve function, and dual water level indicators for easy filling from either side. A built-in water spreader evenly distributes water over the coffee grounds for thorough saturation. The 12-cup carafe has a hinged lid and comfortable pouring handle. Other features include a removable filter basket, non-stick warming plate, and built-in cord storage.
