Black & Decker MiniPro Plus Food Processor MFP200T

The Black & Decker MiniPro Plus Food Processor MFP200T is a powerful food processor in miniature. This unit occupies only a fraction of the space of full-size food processors. Measuring 9 inches by 5.5 inches and standing just 6 inches tall, the MFP200T can handle all of your chopping needs, plus slicing and shredding too. It comes with a 2-cup clear work bowl with cover, a stainless steel chopping blade, a reversible stainless steel slicing/shredding disc and cover with continuous feed chute.
We liked the oversize control buttons on this model. A large pulse button activates the unit in short bursts of power. High and Low speeds are activated via a single flip switch. We achieved excellent results chopping onions, garlic and herbs. Larger foods must be cut into pieces that will fit inside the work bowl. Smaller foods, such as nuts and garlic, can be processed whole.
The hardest part was making sure the unit was properly assembled. The processor has a safety interlock feature that prevents the unit from operating if the bowl and lid are not correctly locked in place. A plastic tab on both the flat lid and the continuous feed chute lid must be twisted and locked in the slot on the power base.
A nice extra feature is the slicing/shredding capability. The only drawback is the small feed chute, which limits the amount of processing space. This unit makes up for that limitation by adding a continuous feed chute so you can process unlimited quantities of produce and the foods are then ejected into a separate bowl. Foods must be cut into 1x2-inch pieces to fit into the feed tube. That means you cannot obtain whole slices of onions or other large items. Even so, the slices you do get are thin and uniform -- perfect for salads or stir fry dishes.
Processing is FAST, so if you are using the continuous feed chute, be sure you have a bowl positioned under the chute to catch the ingredients as they come flying out. All in all, we liked this little processor, which tries to keep up with the big boys and, for the most part, succeeds.
Pros: Compact size, chopping/slicing/shredding capability, pulse/high/low speeds
Cons: Limited bowl capacity, foods must be cut to fit inside bowl or through feed tube
