The Black & Decker Gizmo Twist Mixer GM200 is a clever little 3-in-1 gadget that quickly mixes, blends and whips a variety of ingredients in no time. The power comes from a 2.4-volt 1500mAh nickel cadmium battery, which is stored in the mixer's slim handle. Unlike alkaline batteries that last only a few weeks, nickel-cadmium batteries can be recharged again and again, lasting up to 2-3 years.

Don't let the small size fool you. The Gizmo is more powerful than it looks. The 7-inch power handle has a 4.5-inch extension that can be used in its original configuration -- at a 90-degree angle to the handle -- or it can swivel to form a straight-line immersion-blender style unit.

The mixer comes with three attachments: a standard beater, a whisk and a drink mixer. Each attachment clicks into place on the mixing head. You then choose the best angle for the task at hand. Two speeds -- high and low -- are activated by a toggle switch on the underside of the handle. Soft rubberized sections add a slip-free feel to the handle grip and also add to the visual appeal.
