Black & Decker FireStorm 9.5-amp FS9500RS reciprocating saw
Date Published: 5/3/07
Versatility is the name of the game for Black & Decker's FireStorm FS9500RS reciprocating saw. Just about every feature lets you customize the saw to your own preferences.
Its eight-position adjustable handle lets you set it to accommodate just about any angle, from over the head to low to the ground, and still maintain a firm grip. (You can also remove the handle altogether.) The tool's shoe is adjustable, as well, and pivots to easily control your blade length. The blades can be changed without tools, another nice feature.
It's powered by a 9.5-amp motor, which provides more than enough torque to chew threw wood, PVC, or metal. Its six-position speed dial offers a nice amount of versatility while maintaining a constant speed, and lets you use only as much power as you need for the job. (We'd like to see a dial that's a bit larger and easier to turn, however.) The FireStorm FS9500RS reciprocating saw also features a 12-foot cord and a 2-year warranty.
Pros: Adjustable handle
Cons: Small speed dial
Warranty
2 years
