The DustBuster, a brand commonly associated with the hand vacuum, has evolved into a three-in-one appliance that goes a step beyond the traditional convenience appliance. The new DustBuster cordless floor vac can be used as an upright stick vacuum on carpeted and hard floor surfaces. For better performance and more versatility, a powered brush roll provides effective carpet cleaning, but can be turned off for safe operation on wood and tile floors. With the push of a button, the DustBuster and power brush detaches from the upright handle to become a full-size, power-head hand-held vacuum, perfect for cleaning stairs or other hard-to-reach areas, carpeted or not. With another push of a button, the DustBuster detaches from the base of the power brush to become a traditional hand-held DustBuster for quick pick ups around the house, garage, or car interior. Dirt is deflected off a main filter and collected in a clear cup, with finer dust particles trapped in a secondary pleated filter. The entire system is cordless--which can be both a benefit and a hindrance. While the freedom of movement is a bonus, especially for grab-and-go hand vacuum use, the amount of run time is limited. When using the unit as a floor vac, you may not be able to accomplish as much cleaning as you may require before the power starts to drain. However, this innovative vacuum is great for small homes, apartments, dorm rooms, or for quick cleanings in between major vacuuming sessions.
