Black & Decker DustBuster Compact Cordless Vac V2415
Date Published: 5/6/08
The Black & Decker DustBuster Compact Cordless Vac V2415 is lightweight and easy to handle. It picks up small messes with relative ease and comes with a charging base that can be mounted on a wall. This keeps the DustBuster always charged and ready for use for your convenience.
The 2.4-volt DustBuster could benefit from more power. Although it can handle small messes, it falls short when it comes to picking up large crumbs. A few dust-sized crumbs from a graham cracker? No problem. Suzy spills her cereal and you want to vacuum it up? Not a chance. Despite this disappointing performance, we were excited to try the DustBuster in a variety of environments, including a vehicle. Although it did pick up some small crumbs and dust particles from an interior seat, it couldn't muster the strength to pick up anything larger.
We do, however, like the onboard attachments that nest neatly within the DustBuster. There are two attachments: a crevice tool for cleaning in corners and tight spaces, and an upholstery brush for cleaning furniture. The collection canister is easy to open and clean. The wall-mounted charger is convenient, but the DustBuster has a surprisingly short battery life. It takes a considerable amount of time to fully charge and then only a few minutes to run through the battery before it needs to be charged again. The bottom line? We thought we'd like the Black & Decker DustBuster Compact Cordless Vac because it is a lightweight model always at the ready. What we discovered is a handheld vacuum without much suction that's not really worth an already low price.
Pros: Two attachments, price
Cons: Weak suction, short battery life
