Bissell Quick Steamer 2080
Date Published: 2/1/07
Lighter weight and less expensive than Bissell's full-size models, the Quick Steamer 2080 makes sense only for homes with small amounts of carpet or a few area rugs.
The tank holds just 1/2 gallon of liquid, so you won't be going far before you'll need to dump out your waste water and get a refill of fresh water. Since the 2080 doesn't have an onboard heater, you'll also need to make sure the water you add is as hot as possible and that you work quickly -- before it cools off.
Those who have nasty pet stains and other serious messes should probably look elsewhere as well. This model is not intended for those big jobs. What it is intended for is small areas of carpet in need of a perk-up. It's lighter weight than many other models, making it easier to pull out and use to quickly groom a small area. Users with small homes and apartments with light traffic and no pets preferred this model. Owner of large, busy homes with pets, kids and lots of traffic gave it the thumbs down.
Featuring Bissell's Dirtlifter PowerBrush, this model costs about $30 more than comparable models equipped with only basic brushes.
The low price of Bissell's Quick Steamer 2080 makes it attractive, but only if this lightweight meets your needs.
Pros: Lightweight, low price
Cons: No heater, small tank
