Bissell Pro-Heat 2X Carpet Cleaner 9300P
Date Published: 5/6/08
Another outstanding carpet cleaning machine from Bissell, the Pro-Heat 2X Carpet Cleaner 9300P offers a few subtle changes from the earlier versions of the highly acclaimed Pro-Heat carpet cleaner. The ProHeat 2X 9300P incorporates improved tanks for the storage of both water and carpet cleaning solution. These tanks are much easier to access thanks to a front-to-back design and the addition of an easy-grip handle. Additionally, this Bissell model has relocated switches for both power and heat, making it unlikely that the user will inadvertently turn the heater off. Lastly, this model has a more functional location for the power cord. Moved around to the side, the cord no longer interferes with the use of the hose and tools.
Similar to other versions of the 2X, the 9300P offers onboard heated water to the attachment hose as well as to the body of the machine. Always a superior performer on carpets because of the onboard heater, Bissell has extended this performance to the hose and tools. Better cleaning of stairs and furniture is the result of this welcome addition. No more wimpy cool water coming through the attachments. Most everyone knows you need hot water to clean well and using carpet cleaner attachments is no exception to this rule. In addition to cleaning, the hose and tool system on this model can be used to apply Scotchguard protector. Accessories packed with the unit include an extra Scotchguard cartridge, a multi-allergen cleaning solution and a pre-cleaner for stain treatment.
Bissell provides 10 rows of cleaning brushes on this particular model, while some higher priced versions offer 12 rows. The company has added little edge cleaning brushes to one side of this model. These little brushes allow for better cleaning next to a wall, something that often was missed on some previous versions of this machine.
The rest of 9300P remains much the same as previous versions of the Pro-Heat, with all the outstanding benefits it has offered for a number of years. The unique bladder system is efficient and easy to use. The heater continues to heat water 25 degrees above tap temperature and keeps it hot and ready for effective cleaning even as you work your way through a room. This model comes with some hand tools that are finally more useful -- thanks to the improved heating system. The only real disadvantage here is the cleanup. This model will last far longer and perform far better if it is thoroughly cleaned and dried after each use. Make sure you allow 15 or so minutes to clean up the machine when finished and you'll have far better results for a far longer period of time.

Con: Offers 10 rows of brushes while some versions offer 12 rows, cleaning machine properly can be time consuming
