Bissell Little Green ProHeat 1425
Date Published: 7/30/07
Bissell's Little Green ProHeat 1425 improves upon the Little Green 1400 with the best possible added feature -- a built-in heater. This heater greatly boosts the cleaning ability of this little machine, allowing for quicker and more thorough spot removal than ever before.
To use the Little Green ProHeat 1425, you simply fill the clean water tank with water and solution. Switch on the power and the heater switch and you're off. Wet the stain, brush briskly using the included handheld brush and then vacuum up the solution. For tougher stains, you may want to soak the stain a while, brush a few more times and then vacuum. If stains persist, you may need to repeatedly perform this process.
Though it works best on small stains and spills, we also had some success with the Little Green ProHeat 1425 on stairs. Because it offers a handheld brush, it's possible to do a thorough job of cleaning, one step at a time. A word of caution, though -- this model is not intended to clean large spaces; for that, we suggest using a full-size carpet-cleaning machine. The Little Green ProHeat 1425 does, however, make a great supplement to a full-size machine.
When the clean water tank is empty, it's time to dump out the dirty water tank. Depending on what type of mess you are cleaning up, the dirty water tank can get a bit gummed up. To prevent offensive odors, you'll want to make sure you rinse the dirty water tank out well and clean it thoroughly before storing. If you plan to continue cleaning, you'll need to refill the clean water tank and begin the process again.
If you're shopping around for a small cleaner, you may want to compare Little Green ProHeat 1425 to Bissell's popular SpotBot. In doing so, you'll find that SpotBot lacks Little Green's onboard heater, but treats stains even if you're not in the room.
If you decide to go with Bissell's Little Green ProHeat 1425, you can be sure that you've chosen what is, thus far, one of the best handheld cleaning machines on the market.
Pros: Onboard heater, some Little Green cleaners offer an upgraded turbo brush in addition to a tough stain brush, turbo brush is available as an accessory
Cons: User needs to stay with cleaner, keeping machine clean can be challenging, hand brushing of spots may be required.
