Bissell thought of everything when it came to designing their 7700 Big Green Complete wet/dry vacuum. More of a home cleaning system, this versatile machine is like having three machines in one, yet only occupies over 2 square feet of floor space. Once assembled, the Big Green Complete is ready for action. This multi-functional tool can vacuum carpets, stairs and areas that are hard to reach; deep clean carpets, rugs and upholstery, and clean sealed hard floor surfaces.

Looking somewhat like a canister style vacuum cleaner from the future, we found several impressive features on this space-age machine. For starters, we like the unit's three-stage filtration system, which features a water filtration, a washable foam filter and a HEPA filter. Cleaning performance is enhanced due to the built-in heater that quickly heats hot tap water up to 25 degrees hotter. User-friendly highlights include pushbutton controls that operate with ease, easy to change heads, a quick release cord wrap housing the unit's 18-foot cord and a quick release hose door. And the onboard tool selection takes versatility to the extreme, with a multi-surface floor tool, a crevice tool, an air-powered floor TurboBrush, a 5-inch brush and a dust brush. There's also a carpet deep-cleaning tool, a drain cleaner, a 4-inch upholstery tool and a hard-floor tool along with washable hard floor pads.

Now if only everything worked as it should. Reality set in when we used the Big Green Complete to deep clean a section of carpet. Suction was poor, and the area was wetter than just washed towels coming out of the washing machine. We think it's due to the design of the carpet deep cleaning tool attachment, which doesn't allow the suction power to come in good contact with the wet carpet. We ran another wet/dry vac over the area and were amazed at the amount of dirty water/cleaning solution that was sucked up -- dirty water that otherwise would have remained in the carpet to dry.

Bissell did think of everything when designing the 7700 Big Green Complete, but we were disappointed in that the unit didn't seem to do anything really well.

Cons: Didn't seem to do anything really well, poor job at sucking up the cleaning solution water, hose is too thin and kinks easily; connection on hose could be better as it came undone several times; it would be nice if tools were labeled so you knew which one to use for which application, warranty period should be longer for its price point
