A fairly substantial investment, we recommend the K41 for use with high-output, commercially styled ranges. Equipped with a 500-cfm fan, this model is capable of moving a substantial amount of air. Before installing, you may want to consult with your designer, builder or installer to ensure that its draw is appropriate for your use. Too high a cfm rating can interfere with home heating, by removing heat from the air or pulling toxins into your home via a fireplace flue. To lessen the likelihood of this happening, the K41 offers a backdraft damper.

A high quality piece, the K41 range hood is intended for use against the wall. It can be adjusted telescopically to work in rooms with ceilings as high as 8 and 9 feet. An optional extension can be purchased for use with 10-foot ceilings. Vented installations will require 6-inch round duct. As an alternative, a charcoal filter can be purchased for non-vented installations, although this hood would be an unlikely choice for that application.

Ventilation is controlled by a three-speed slide control, which is hidden from view, preventing any interruption of the clean lines this model's sleek design. When excessive heat is detected, the Heat Sentry feature automatically turns the fan to high power for maximum ventilation.

Lighting provided to the cooking surface with this model is excellent. Two halogen bulbs come with the K41 by Best creating a bright well-lit space.
