The Back to Basics Electric Ice Shaver SIT4660 is a simple device with a raised stand, cylindrical shaving bowl, and power head. Two plastic molds are also included, which can be used to pre-freeze round blocks of ice. To make refreshing ice treats, you place the frozen ice blocks in the shaving bowl, attach the power head, and press. The motor spins the ice disk against a sharp blade to produce fine ice shavings, which are dispensed directly into your own cup or bowl. Ice cubes can also be used but will produce a coarser texture.

You can place either a cup or bowl on the stand (or have a helper hold the cup) to collect the shavings, then add your favorite syrup or other flavoring and enjoy. A built-in drip tray collects any stray pieces of ice or water droplets. The power head has a touch-and-release button that lets you start and stop the motor. Each block of ice produces about 2 to 3 cups of shaved ice. The shaved ice is also handy for preparing a chilled tray of shrimp, salad, or other appetizers.
