Baby's Dream Serenity Crib

Date Published: 6/19/08

The Baby's Dream Serenity Crib gets good marks for both function and style. It has plenty of thoughtful features, including adjustable mattress heights that range from 9 to 26 inches. The Baby's Dream Serenity Crib has one of the deepest mattress positions in its class, a real advantage for parents of taller-than-average toddlers.

The Baby's Dream Serenity Crib is constructed of solid wood, which is a feature we always like, and which only adds to the crib's 19th century French sleigh bed style. This crib has non-toxic stain and lacquer finish, and like others in its class, complies with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA). The manufacturer contends that because the frames are assembled using steel bolts and inserts, they are less likely to strip during frequent assemblies or conversions. That said, we find the crib was relatively easy to assemble and simple to convert from crib to toddler bed.

We especially liked that the Baby's Dream Serenity Crib converts to a toddler bed and a full-size bed. However, we prefer the crib to come equipped with locking casters for an easier way to move it short distances.

Overall, this crib is a mid-priced model that looks more expensive than it actually is, though there are less-expensive models with similar features and style on the market.

Pros: Solid wood construction, steel frame, converts to toddler bed and full-size bed
Cons: Mid-price point, no casters

Warranty
lifetime, limited
