Babylock Coverstitch BLCS

Date Published: 9/29/08

A coverstitch-only machine, the BLCS from Babylock is the perfect timesaving companion to a serger. While many of the newer sergers offer a coverstitch, the convenience of a stand-alone machine is hard to beat. Increasingly seamstresses are opting for less expensive sergers without a coverstitch and adding a coverstitch-only machine to their sewing rooms instead. The reason for this is simple convenience: The coverstitch machine is always ready to go and requires no bothersome conversion. Four stitch types make this Babylock machine a versatile and user-friendly workhorse for hemming and topstitching. Choose from a triple cover stitch, a wide cover stitch, a narrow coverstitch, or a chain stitch. The most talked about feature of this particular model is the Jet-Air threading for the looper. Thanks to this machine, the days of contortions with a tweezers are finally over. With a simple touch of a lever the thread is easily pushed through the chain looper. Users are also raving about the convenience of the auto-tension release and the fully featured differential feed that makes it a pleasure to sew on most fabrics. Still another popular feature is the auto drop feed, which kicks in when the presser foot is raised. This model accepts many optional accessories available from your Babylock dealer. It can be used as a portable or placed in a cabinet, when secured by the included mounting bolt. If you're ready to invest in multiple machines to get the most out of your sewing hours, then this model from Babylock warrants more than just a passing look. Pro: easy Jet-Air threading, auto tension release, differential feed, auto-drop feed Con: a little more room to the right of the needle would be nice For more information: Tacony Corporate Centre 1760 Gilsinn Lane Fenton, MO63026-0730 636-349-3000 www.babylock.com
