Baby Trend Flex Loc Infant Car Seat
Date Published: 2/21/07
The Baby Trend Flex Loc Infant Car Seat is a stylish way to transport an infant. It has an energy-absorbing foam core, which is a similar safety feature touted by pricey imports. However, the Baby Trend Flex Loc rear-facing infant car seat safety features come without the high price tag. It is designed for babies weighing 5 to 22 pounds, and up to 28.5 inches in length.
Like most infant car seats, the Baby Trend Flex Loc has a five-point harness with a chest clip. The harness is easy to adjust. It can be loosened by pushing a button covered by a fabric flap on the front of the car seat. Then, by pulling on the straps, one can adjust them to the right tension. The shoulder height of the harness is adjustable, and we're happy to report that it adjusts easier than most other comparable models. With the Baby Trend Flex Loc, a knob on the back of the car seat can be turned to adjust the shoulder height of the harness. This is much simpler than rethreading the harness through ascending slots to adjust the height.
The Baby Trend Flex Loc Infant Car Seat comes with a car seat base. The base is installed separately in the vehicle, and the car seat locks into the base. The base can be installed using a vehicle's LATCH-system or using the vehicle's safety belts. The car seat also can be secured in a vehicle without the car seat base by using the vehicle's safety belts.
Other features worth mentioning include canopy and carrying handle. While obviously standard, we find the Baby Trend Flex Loc Infant Car Seat has paid attention to detail. The carrying handle is curved and has a triangle shape at the top that is open in the center to assist in gripping the handle. The car seat is sturdy, but can be heavy to carry for more than short distances.
Pros: Safety features, easy to adjust harness, stylish
Cons: Heavy to carry for more than a short distance
