The AutoPage RS662 is a full-featured remote starter/car alarm system with numerous features and a user-friendly design. The RS662 is moderately priced remote starter solution, but in addition, it's also a fully-functional car alarm, complete with shock sensors.

As with any remote starter system, we strongly recommend having this unit professionally installed. Installation time for us took a little over an hour. Our installer told us he favors units such as this one because you don't have to hardwire the bypass module, thus resulting in a more secure system. He also admired the new GM starter timing feature for no start wire vehicles.

One of the first things we noticed when we were handed the remote is how lightweight it is. Not only that, but we also noticed there are multiple buttons, five in all, on the RS662 remote. We were able to lock or unlock the doors remotely. We were also able to open the trunk, arm/disarm the security system, and activate the panic function remotely; all this in addition to starting the vehicle from a remote location. The remote even has a pull down cover which prevented us from accidentally hitting any of the buttons while the keys were in our pocket. Needless to say, this is a full-featured remote. The system also comes with a smaller mini-size remote transmitter as a back up alternative.

To start the vehicle remotely, we pressed the remote-start button. The parking lights flashed, letting us know the vehicle had received the transmission. A few seconds later the engine turned over and the vehicle was running. Then we saw the parking lights flash again as the climate controls activated, adjusting the vehicle's interior temperature to our preset settings. In all, we were truly won over by this technology. There's no doubt about it: no corners were cut in designing the RS662.

In addition, this remote starter system also includes a temporary stop feature. As with a few other models on the market, we were able to make our morning coffee stop without having to turn off our car. While in park, we pressed the remote-start button with the vehicle running, removed the keys from the ignition, and locked our doors. The vehicle continued to run as we ran our quick errand. When we returned, a few minutes later, the vehicle was the same temperature inside as when we had left.

In all, the RS662 is a full-featured remote starter solution. It's also a solid vehicle security solution. If you're looking for a remote starter with all the bells and whistles, we highly recommend the AutoPage RS662. It's moderately priced, fully loaded, and 2-way upgradeable.
