Audiovox VE720 under-cabinet TV/DVD player
Date Published: 10/26/07
The Audiovox VE720 is a combination player designed to sit under a cabinet in a kitchen or workroom. In addition to TV and DVD functions, the VE720 includes an AM/FM radio. The wide-format 7-inch LCD screen folds down and swivels so you can position it to match your activities. Brackets are provided for mounting the VE720 under a cabinet, and the controls and DVD slot are easy to reach on the front of the unit.
Built-in stereo speakers deliver 1.2 watts of audio output, which is sufficient for such a small unit. The internal NTSC tuner is cable-ready (but not digital cable-ready), and images on the screen generally appear crisp and clear. The brightness of the screen is good enough for viewing in just about any lighting conditions.
DVD playback options include a full range of fast and slow motion, as well as access to subtitles and multiple screen angles. The DVD player can also play CD and CD-R/RW, including discs holding MP3 files. Four radio stations can be saved in memory, and you can use the included AM and FM antennas or connect the VE720 to external antennas.
The rear of this TV/DVD combination player has a composite video input, an RF input and a choice of audio outputs for use with a stereo system or external speakers. A full-featured remote control manages all of the VE720's TV, DVD, and radio functions. Unfortunately, the warranty only covers 90 days, compared with 1 year for many competing models.
