The Prestige APS996 is one of the most advanced remote start systems available from Audiovox (the parent company of Prestige). The APS996 is a combination remote start and keyless entry system, and it includes alarm functions. The main feature of this system is the remote, which provides visual confirmation of every function using an icon indicator on its LCD screen. The remote transmits over a distance of up to 1,000 feet, which is more than most other systems. You can select how long the engine should run, from 5 minutes up to 20 minutes. The alarm system is equally impressive. It has a three-stage shock sensor, and Smart Disarm lets you turn off the siren while the alarm is still armed. There is also a silent mode. The APS996 has an LED indicator for all functions. The remote start only works on vehicles with automatic transmissions and fuel injection, gas or diesel. As the APS996 is a complicated install (as with all remote starter systems), you might want to consider professional installation.
