AT&T E2725B 2.4GHz Dual Cordless Phone System

Date Published: 6/18/08

The AT&T E2725B 2.4GHz Dual Cordless Phone System offers two handsets and an answering machine with a reasonable number of features. Despite the low price, the AT&T E2725B includes built-in speakerphones for the handsets. The handsets are lightweight and comfortable, and they transmit signals using 2.4GHz frequencies, which unfortunately interfere with Wi-Fi transmissions (although AT&T claims it will work with 802.11 b/g networks without adverse effects). However, call clarity and range is otherwise good. Length of charge is also commendable, as the handsets are equipped with NiMH batteries, which do not suffer from memory effect. Meanwhile, the base station has a 15-minute digital answering machine with variable-speed playback and remote message retrieval.

The phone directory can hold up to 50 contacts (as can the Caller ID log), or you can make calls using the last-5-number redial button or the 10 speed-dial locations.  Other features include: belt clip, headset jack, multiple ring tones, intercom, memo recording, and page/handset locator. Overall, this is a well-made phone system that offers a few extras.

Pros: price, two handsets, built-in speakerphones
Cons: interferes with Wi-Fi networks
