AT&T 1738 Digital Answering Machine

Date Published: 3/24/06

This is a straightforward standalone answering machine with limited features and a sizeable 40-minute storage capacity. Each message is stamped with the time and date, and the unit can hold both incoming messages and voice memos. Messages can be played or screened aloud and, if you subscribe to caller ID, the number can be announced. Should you receive a message that's difficult to hear, there is a variable-speed playback option in order to slow things down. Incoming calls are stored in a flash memory with Message Guard to avoid losing messages in a power outage, and you can retrieve messages remotely. Other features include: volume control, an LED message counter, toll saver, and an audible message alert.
