AT&T 1465 2.4GHz Cordless Telephone
Date Published: 6/18/08
With a distinctly curved look, both the handset and the base station for the AT&T 1465 are design-oriented. The analog clock with illuminated hands that sits in the middle of the base station is another attention-getter.
The model includes more standard features such as a digital answering machine that holds up to 15 minutes of messages and stamps each with the time and date. Unfortunately, despite having the ability to play messages aloud from the base station, there is no speakerphone.
As for the handset, it has a 3-line LCD that displays a 50-number phone directory and a caller ID log capable of holding up to 90 entries. The phone's range is quite good and the quality of reception is better than average, likely because transmissions are sent on analog frequencies. While security suffers, range and clarity are usually improved-- especially through walls or other obstacles.
Other features include: 9 quick-dial locations, remote message retrieval, variable-speed message playback, and lighted keypad. The handset uses NiCd batteries, so you want to discharge the phone completely before recharging, or you will subject the batteries to memory effect.
The AT&T 1465 is a unique option for those seeking an inexpensive phone.
