The Ascaso Innova I-1 Coffee Grinder is a professional machine designed to handle the arduous task of grinding espresso coffee. Available in a choice of finishes (gray, black, red, or polished aluminum), the grinder body is constructed of hand-crafted aluminum, and has a 54mm hardened steel flat grinding wheel, which turns at a rate of 700 rpm to deliver exceptional grinding with minimal noise. The grinding wheels are mounted on a heavy-duty platform made of brass, which ensures that the wheels spin in perfect balance with no vibration. The unit stands 16 inches tall with a 6.5x11-inch egg-shaped footprint. A unique Micrometric Regulation System (MRS)--the only one in its class--controls the consistency of the ground coffee and prevents static. A large, clear-plastic bean hopper sits atop the grinder and has a removable lid for easy filling. The large hopper holds up to 600 grams (about 21 ounces) of beans. The machine also has a grinding regulator knob, which lets you adjust the grinding point to achieve a somewhat coarser or finer grind. Because the unit is designed primarily for espresso grinding, there is a special filter holder/fork on the front of the machine, which accommodates espresso filters. The filter holder is positioned just below the grounds spout so the coffee is conveniently dispensed directly into the filter. A pushbutton grind switch directly behind the filter holder starts the grinding when the holder is pressed against it. An on/off button on the side of the machine activates the power.
