The Arc'Teryx Naos 70 technical backpack is an impressive, fully featured backpack with an innovative design. It is specially designed to provide full waterproofing, making it ideal for wet weather backpacking.
The Naos 70 technical backpack's 420 Advanced Composite Textile VaporTight material makes it completely waterproof. This technical backpack is a top-loader with good access to the main compartment thanks to a large top opening. Also, the top lid is removable. Furthermore, the Naos 70 technical backpack's lid closure system adds extra waterproofing. The zippers on all the pockets are also waterproof, as are all the sealed seams.
A hydration pocket inside the Naos 70 technical backpack has a waterproof drinking tube port -- hydration reservoir sold separately -- that is a fairly unique feature. There is also a laminated map pocket. A large zippered Kangaroo pocket on one side, which is a classic Arc'Teryx feature and another smaller zippered pocket on the other side adorn this backpack. The back panel uses a light foam material and is supported by two aluminum stays. The hip belt is designed to allow movement of the pack. In addition, the hip belt can be disconnected from the pack by simply rotating it in a counter-clockwise rotation. The suspension system is laminated and bonded for added strength. Loads are secured with six compression straps.
The Naos 70 technical backpack comes in small, medium and large sizes, and is available in cobalt, jasper and graphite colors. The Arc'Teryx Naos 70 is a technical backpack for serious backpackers; it is an expensive pack, but it offers tremendous features and performance, at a reasonable carrying weight. This technical backpack will perform well under even the more strenuous, and wet, conditions.
