Allegro Rainbow Piano Wizard PREMIER Keystation 49e
Date Published: 9/18/07
The Piano Wizard PREMIER Keystation 49e by Allegro Rainbow is a fun way for kids to learn their way around the keyboard. While some parents steer clear of video games that threaten to turn children's brains to mush, Allegro Rainbow has found a way to turn piano lessons into engaging -- and educational -- video games. With the Piano Wizard, kids learn to play the piano just by playing along.
The Piano Wizard is a software program, and it comes with a keyboard that connects to a computer. The full-size keyboard is mirrored by an onscreen version. Color coded keyboard stickers are included for beginners to attach to the piano keys. When a player sees a color on screen, he can push the key on the keyboard with the corresponding color. As kids master each level of songs, the Piano Wizard progresses to more difficult tunes. More advanced players can download songs, and the computer customizes these songs so kids can play along. We especially appreciate being able to use the Piano Wizard with a PC or a Mac.
While traditionalists may prefer the teacher/student piano-lesson approach, kids are quickly attracted to the Piano Wizard's video-game format. It's certainly more entertaining than practicing scales. If you'd like to foster a musical talent in your kids, check out Allegro Rainbow's Piano Wizard PREMIER Keystation 49e.
