All-Clad's MC2 line is an updated version of its original Master-chef line. As with all of its products, All-Clad builds quality into the MC2, incorporating its standard three-ply bonded construction, which takes a core of pure aluminum and joins it in a permanent bonding process with a layer of stainless steel on one side and a brushed aluminum alloy on the other. The underlying aluminum provides efficient heat distribution, while the stainless-steel cooking surface prevents food reactions. The 7-piece set comes with 1-1/2- and 3-1/2-inch saucepans with lids, a 5-quart casserole with lid, a steamer insert, and a 7-inch fry pan. Recessed lids provide a snug fit to lock in moisture and heat and preserve flavors. Lids and handles are made from gleaming stainless steel with riveted fastenings. For best performance, a low to medium heat setting is recommended. All pieces are dishwasher safe; however, harsh detergents may darken the aluminum exterior.
